Acupuncture is a medical treatment that has been developed over thousands of years. It has documentation extending over 20 centuries making it one of the world’s most renewable health care options. It is a broad and forgiving science which allows a practitioner to develop treatment protocols for each individual patient based on their specific health history and presentation. From constipation to migraines, and insomnia to knee pain, acupuncture can provide both immediate symptomatic relief and long term solutions to both acute and chronic health problems.

Sara-Blair is a graduate from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, class of 2020 in Halifax. Sara-Blair is currently a candidate member with the Canadian Sport Massage Therapy Association working towards her full certification. Sara-Blair has a keen interest in sport massage, and being a multi-athlete herself, she is excited to bring her experience and continuing education to the table.

Since graduating she has been working on her volunteer hours with the Brookfield Jr.B Elks as their trainer. Sara-Blair expanded her skills sets in 2020 by adding CSMTA Advanced Sport Massage, Concussion: prevention, detection and management from the University of Laval and University of Calgary as well as Gua Sha therapy to her professional curriences. Sara-Blair is committed to continuing her education in her field to stay current with all relevant therapies and to expand her skillsets.

Sara-Blair is looking forward to meeting more of her community and is excited to be able to offer sport specific treatment alongside therapeutic. With a love for General Swedish techniques, Myofascial and Trigger Point release she is confident in finding what works best for your tissue to get you back to your best.

Pascal Grolaux, from Belgium, is a senior osteopathic practitioner. He studied osteopathic medicine for 9 years (full-time programs), gained two degrees in Osteopathy and a doctorate thesis done in the Dpt of neurosurgery at the university hospital (CHUV) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a pioneer in evidence-based osteopathy and participate in several researches projects in the field of neuroscience (bioelectronic medicine) and in osteopathy.

Patrick graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver, BC. Patrick utilized his specialty in sports massage, while in Vancouver working with amazing athletes, coaches and other practitioners engaged in provincial, national, Olympic and professional sports. Patrick returned to Nova Scotia, co-establishing Truro’s first clinic with chiropractic and registered massage therapy. This was followed by establishing a multi-disciplinary clinic, which lead to the expansion at the current location. Patrick has served on several committees and the Board of the Massage Therapist Association of Nova Scotia. Patrick has represented Nova Scotia on the Canadian Alliance of Massage Therapists. Alyssa grew up in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. She graduated from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science in Biology before moving on to Toronto to complete the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She has taken additional coursework and is certified in Functional Integrated Acupuncture, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), RockTape Kinesiotaping, and Webster Technique for pregnant patients.

Alyssa’s practice is evidence based. She keeps up with the latest research and creates individualized care plans with her patients to address their complaints and help them achieve their goals. Shane is a top graduate of the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy, class of 2007. He has continued education with Functional Movement Systems, completing courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Functional Movement Screening, Screening and Assessing Breathing: A Multidimensional Approach; as well as studies with The Orthotic Group including Orthotic Foot Biomechanics and Compression Garment Therapy plus Kiniseotaping. Shane continues to stay current researching biomechanics, natural movement and posture, through constant self directed research.

He has an ongoing drive to help patients develop, recover, improve, as well as, maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Shane is always learning about the body and how to support its healing and physical integrity.

His approach to massage is to identify the dysfunction and misuse of our body in everyday life. Through his assessment of movement he looks for decreased mobility, motor control and strength. Born and raised in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Laura moved to Halifax in 2004 to begin her Massage Therapy Certification at ICT Northumberland College. During the two year, 2200 hour course, Laura learned Swedish Massage Techniques and their use in treatment as well as opting to take electives in Myofascial Release.

Achieving top grades in June of 2006, she went on to work at a clinic in Bedford before coming to Legge Health Clinic Inc. Laura increased her knowledge base taking advanced courses in Deep Tissue Treatment, Kinesio-taping, Yogasana and Anatomy to further aid her patients in their recovery and home care.

In April of 2010 she attended a John Barnes Myofascial Release seminar widening her study of the technique. Going in depth in to the structure and manipulation of myofacical tissue. Focus was placed on fascial assessment and multiple release approaches. Topics includes the craniosacral system with release learned for all cranial bones and spine to sacrum. Laura uses this approach to treat restrictions assisted with tempromandibular joint dysfunction and many other common conditions.

In 2018 she advanced her knowledge of the Tempormandibular Joint and treatment with a TMJ Mastery course focusing on intra-oral techniques that explore craniomandibular dysfuntion. After completing his final year of high school, Daniel moved to Halifax to attend Dalhousie where he studied Kinesiology and worked as a personal trainer.
